Hi Lisa!
I have found Katie's niche. She loves kids. I
take her to the hospitals, but where she shines is with the children in
at the Women's Refuge. This is a place where moms and kids go (safe
house) to escape from domestic violence. I am not able to take pictures
there do to the confidentially issues. But! I can tell you stories.
There was a little boy in there right before Christmas. I could tell he
was having a difficult time, but he liked the dogs that were visiting.
Katie decided that she liked him too. She sat by him. He patted her on
the head and commented that she was a pretty dog. He went about playing
with some toys. Katie nudged his arm...he petted her some more. Before
long, she was laying in his lap...and they ended up cuddling for the
rest of the visit. You can't teach a dog to do that! She is a very
special dog. I made the comment to Danny the other day..."I know she is
a dog, but there are times you wouldn't know it".
I love my Aussies! They are wonderful dogs.
You can be very proud of all your animals! It's also a testament to you
and the quality of time and work you have done for the breed! Take
care!
Cathy
