To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in reference to
Lisa Renville and her dogs. I have been Lisa's veterinarian for about ten years.
It has always been my experience that Lisa adheres to the highest standards of
husbandry and medical care for all of her animals. As a breeder she does an
exemplary job of screening her dogs for possible congenital or breed related
problems in order to maintain and improve the Australian Shepherd breed. In
addition to being healthy, her dogs are as sweet and as well socialized as any I
see. In fact, Lisa and her dogs are always among the favorite appointments for
the staff here.
When one of Lisa's dogs has had a serious medical problem she has always
sought the best and most compassionate care without regard for expense or effort
on her part. I have always found Ms. Renville to be kind, intelligent and very
conscientious in the management of her dogs.
Sincerely,

Jim Esh, D.V.M. Diplomate A.B.V.P.

Subject: Happy Birthday Sadie!
Hi Lisa
Tag and I wanted to wish her
sister Sadie a Happy 2nd Birthday and send an annual update. We
hope you are well, we check your website often to see what's up
with the pups and all looks great.
We are busy busy busy! We went
through all levels of obedience with Tag's trainer, Melody Daggs
and in her advanced class, Melody saw how much Tag enjoyed doing
her tricks, so asked us to join her performance group, Paws for
Fun. It is a local group of people, very informal and comprised
of her students throughout the years, they go to retirement
homes, elder care facilities, children's hospitals, schools and
have routines/skits that showcase some of their tricks and
skills. The group routines are contests like, putting your toys
away and how fast you can do it and the kids get a kick out of
cheering their favorite dog on. We also do basketball
where whoever dunks the most basketballs, wins; then there is go
to bed and they roll themselves up in a blanket. They also have
individual tricks and solos. Tag has a little volleyball routine
she does with me that we just started using a beach ball. The
group like it so much we are adding a beach party routine to it
and incorporating fun things dogs do at the beach. All this to
surfer music if you can believe that. Its nice to give the folks
at the retirement home something to laugh about and they just
get a kick out of those dogs!
We also started training in
flyball and she was in her first tournament last April in a
singles heat. Our goal was to go down and back without any
errors and she did it. It was indoor on mats and that was all
very new to her and the lights, judges, people and noise were
great experience for her. We are working on team passing so she
can get comfortable with those dynamics and someday be on a
team, but so far she is really enjoying it. The club, Mutts in
Motion, is a fun group of people, very into training their dogs
but having fun doing it.
We also took a beginner agility
class and she loved it. I am directionally challenged but she
loves the equipment and I can't keep up with her. One of my old
flyball teammates who only competes in agility now, has her own
training yard and all the competition level equipment, so we go
out there a few time a month to keep up on things and continue
our work on handler/dog focus and communication, an always
ongoing fundamental skill we never get tired of. I am signing up
in the fall for another level of agility as I am not sure where
to go next and am need of some guidance there. She shows no fear
of the equipment, loves to jump, tunnel, A frame and tire,
teeter too, I just have to slow her to get the contact but we
are having fun.
Tell Sagee and Kole hello, we
were happy to see Kole still out there competing! Maybe in a few
years, I will be ready to add another Aussie to my pack, I have
my heart set on a high drive red tri this time!
Keep your site updated on any
competitions you are going to .I still would like to see you and
the pups, maybe in Turlock sometime. Until then, I will send
this with a few pictures and follow up with a separate email
that has a quicktime movie of her first flyball tournament
separately.
Peace and Aussies,
Carla and Tag Aguirre

agility instructor:

Hi Lisa,
You don't know me, but I have had the pleasure
of working with Annette Dusa and Peyton for the past year as their agility
instructor.
My husband and I are moving from the Portland,
Oregon area and I will no longer have the opportunity to work with Annette and
Peyton on a weekly basis. As this phase of my life is coming to a close, it
seems fitting to share with you how much I have enjoyed working with both
Annette and Peyton, and to commend you on producing such a wonderful canine
companion.
What a wonderful example of the breed you have
produced in Peyton. She is the happiest dog I've ever known. The world is her
oyster. She has the most amazing work ethic and gives her all to anything she
puts her mind to. She is well loved and cared for by both Annette and Peggy,
which I'm certain only makes her even more special than she would otherwise be.
As a dog trainer, I have seen it all - poorly bred dogs, dogs with aggression
issues, fear issues, mis-directed prey drive...the works.
In Peyton, I see the essence of what an
Aussie should be - charming, funny, happy, beautiful,
loyal and a joy to be around.
I hope you some day have the opportunity to
watch Peyton and Annette work an agility course together...I
think you would be as proud and amazed as I am.
Best regards,
Leslie Renaud

Hi Lisa!
I have found Katie's niche. She loves kids. I
take her to the hospitals, but where she shines is with the children in
at the Women's Refuge. This is a place where moms and kids go (safe
house) to escape from domestic violence. I am not able to take pictures
there do to the confidentially issues. But! I can tell you stories.
There was a little boy in there right before Christmas. I could tell he
was having a difficult time, but he liked the dogs that were visiting.
Katie decided that she liked him too. She sat by him. He patted her on
the head and commented that she was a pretty dog. He went about playing
with some toys. Katie nudged his arm...he petted her some more. Before
long, she was laying in his lap...and they ended up cuddling for the
rest of the visit. You can't teach a dog to do that! She is a very
special dog. I made the comment to Danny the other day..."I know she is
a dog, but there are times you wouldn't know it".
I love my Aussies! They are wonderful dogs.
You can be very proud of all your animals! It's also a testament to you
and the quality of time and work you have done for the breed! Take
care!
Cathy
